Well, just had another snowstorm with about 9-11 inches of snow and wintry mix. Cannot wait until Summer gets her. I don't say spring because we are likely to get snow then too. The horses weathered it well and acted like it was just a normal thing.
I have figured out a way to watch the mares while I am at work and at home. Our first mare will probably be stalled beginning first of March so that I can have her where I can keep an eye on her. I am in the process of setting up my laptop at the farm with a hotspot for internet that I purchased from Verizon that will allow me to call the computer and use Skype to see her. I set her up a skype account and set it to "always answer" so that when I call from my ipad to her, it will answer and automatically go to video and I will be able to see her. I have tested it at the house so I feel that I should have no problems when it is time to put it at the farm. I also plan on staying nights there to keep an eye on her; especially when she is really close. I will dial her up periodically during the day for about 15 minutes at a time and when she gets really close I can check hourly on her. I purchased so much time so I cannot leave it on constantly but should be able to check her often without using too much time.
Stay tuned for updates.
